Draw Fantasy Creatures from Tarot Cards

I love to find inspiration from Tarot Cards. Each card is filled with deep meaning, archetypal figures, and visual cues that can inspire unique, magical creatures.

In the video below, watch how I take the essence of a Tarot card and transform it into a unique dragon.

I create three dragons with three different cards, break down their symbolism, and use that to shape the design of the dragons.

If you have your own deck of tarot cards, grab your sketchbook, and let’s see what we come up with. Or use the same card that I am using.

Tarot cards are filled with symbolism and colors that influence the emotions they evoke. When designing fantasy creatures, we can use these elements to define their physical forms, personalities, and even their magical abilities.

The first card I pulled was the Empress. The Empress is represented by fertility, creativity, abundance, and nature.

The second card I pulled was the Devil. This card represents temptation, power, control, and darker aspects of the self.

The third card I pulled was the Knight of Cup. This card symbolizes imagination, romance, and deep emotions.
